Your Donated Books Made it to Africa! |
|
Many thanks to all the Terra Centre and community families who donated their books and their time to a most noble cause, the "Books for Bright Minds" program benefitting the A.V. Bukani school in South Africa. Please read the accompanying newsletter from Larry, Eileen and Sara Kugler who spearheaded the effort. Many thanks, again, for changing and touching the lives of many people halfway around the world.

The August 12 meeting of the Burke Centre Conservancy Board of Trustees (BOT) resulted in the school withdrawing the application for the previously proposed sign. A member of the Terra Centre family and community, El Farris, has graciously taken on the task of searching for a new sign. The goal is for the community and the school to work together to create a safe, aesthetically pleasing sign that will communicate effectively. Look for the page 2 spread in the September Burke Centre Conservator for more information. If you can't wait and want to see the design ideas now, El has graciously shared the ideas with the Terra Centre PTA so we can keep you informed about what's going on at your school.
